Smart Campus

Smart Campus project is the application of smart computing environments in a campus of an educational institute. One scenario is to have a smart board in a class. Contents of the smart board appear on the students’ laptop/PC screens automatically. Also, contents are updated automatically. Underlying network should keep low the network traffic and network response time. Another scenario is to remotely monitor progress of students in a lab and compare their progress to discover cheating. Students are also encouraged to discover areas in campus, where smart computing can be applied and has never been applied before. Pre-requisites: Basic Knowledge of Computer Networks and Networking Protocols; Basic understanding of the programming constructs.

 

Smart Caretaker

Smart Caretaker aims at employing smart devices to take care of a subject. Subject can be an elderly person living at home or a patient in a hospital. Subject can wear sensing devices as locket or watch or a similar thing to measure biometrics from the body of the subject. Handheld device/Laptop/Personal Computer can be used to gather and process the subject’s information and send it to a remote computer automatically. In case of an elderly person, remote computer can be a relative’s computer. In case of patient, remote computer can be a server, which is placed in a hospital and generates alerts based on anomalies. Pre-requisites: Basic Knowledge of Computer Networks and Networking Protocols; Basic understanding of the programming constructs.
